catnip - Not just for cats! The flowering top of this member of the mint family is excellent for migraine relief. It has anti-inflammatory characteristics that help reduce stress and anxiety, often the cause of migraine headaches. 

chamomile - calming and relaxing, relieves tension. 

feverfew - may work as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting smooth muscle contraction. 

lemon balm - anti inflammatory and helps to reduce anxiety and symptoms of headaches. 

marjoram - the anti-inflammatory and calming effects of marjoram work to reduce pain associated with muscle tightness, muscle spasms and tension headaches.

meadowsweet - contains chemicals that are similar to salicylic acid and are used to create acetylsalicylic acid, a synthetic chemical known as aspirin. These chemicals give the plant additional properties including pain relief, fever reduction, and anti inflammatory. 

lavender - relaxing effects extend to muscular system relieving pains and strains. 

mint - the oil relieves the spasms that cause some types of headaches. 

skullcap - may help tension headaches and migraine. 

rosemary - anti inflammatory properties help reduce pain and swelling. 

vervain - Inflammation is at the root of most diseases. Vervain can provide anti-inflammatory, as well as pain-relieving effects. 

yarrow flowers - reduces the duration of fevers by inducing sweating. 

turmeric - beneficial in reducing inflammation in arthritis, joint swelling and reduction in pain. 

blue violet - anti inflammatory good for joint pain.
